Guidoio Raises €3.5 Million to Digitize Driving Schools and Transform Italy’s Driver Education
Guidoio, the Milan‑based startup that’s pioneering the first fully digital driving school experience in Italy, has accelerated its growth trajectory with a major €3.5 million seed funding round aimed at expanding its platform, accelerating product development, and scaling its team as it prepares to transform how millions of Italians obtain their driving licences. Founded in 2023 by Lorenzo Mannari and Giuseppe Cavallaro, the company has designed an end‑to‑end digital service that lets learners manage everything from registration and documentation to AI‑supported theory study and scheduling of practical lessons on their smartphones, replacing much of the traditional bureaucracy of driving schools.
The seed round was led by European venture capital firm 360 Capital, investing through its 360 Digitaly fund, which is supported by CDP Venture Capital SGR and the Digital Transition Fund under Italy’s PNRR programme. Alongside 360 Capital, Azimut Libera Impresa SGR participated via its Azimut Eltif – Venture Capital ALIcrowd III and IV funds, bringing significant industry experience and financial backing to Guidoio’s mission of making driver education more accessible, transparent, and efficient for Generation Z and beyond.
This investment marks a pivotal step in Guidoio’s evolution from early stage to broader market impact. With the new funding, the startup plans to extend its geographical footprint well beyond its current presence in cities such as Milan, Varese, Monza, Turin, and Bologna, with a goal of being active in over 30 Italian cities by the end of 2026. The funds will also accelerate work on enhancing the company’s e‑learning and AI‑driven features, including tools that personalise study pathways for individual learners and smart booking systems that make arranging practical lessons seamless.
The platform’s appeal lies in its integrated, mobile‑first approach, which gives learner drivers control over their entire journey through a single app. Students can register for courses, handle required administrative tasks, schedule medical appointments and practical sessions with certified instructors, and receive support in preparing for both theory and practical exams. Built‑in AI tutoring assists users with personalised study plans tailored to their level and pace of learning, aiming to boost pass rates and reduce the frustration often associated with the traditional model.
For Guidoio’s leadership, the €3.5 million seed round is more than just capital — it’s validation of a business model that addresses long‑standing challenges in the Italian driving education sector. “A driving licence today represents independence, employment and freedom,” said Lorenzo Mannari, co‑founder and CEO of Guidoio, underscoring the company’s mission to modernise a process that has historically been slow, opaque and bureaucratic. By merging digital convenience with robust instructional support, Guidoio hopes to set a new standard for mobility education in Italy.
The participation of 360 Capital and Azimut Libera Impresa reflects broader confidence in Guidoio’s potential to reshape an industry that touches millions of young drivers each year. 360 Capital’s backing — especially through its 360 Digitaly fund — positions the startup favourably within Europe’s dynamic tech ecosystem, while Azimut’s focus on venture capital investments provides strategic support geared toward scaling high‑growth companies. Together, these investors bring not only capital but also networks and operational insights that are expected to help Guidoio navigate the next phase of its journey.
Guidoio’s expansion plans also include strengthening its workforce, with intentions to double its team as it hires new talent across engineering, product development, marketing and customer support. The enhanced team will be critical in refining the platform’s core offerings and ensuring that Guidoio can meet the needs of a rapidly growing user base.
This seed funding round builds on Guidoio’s earlier milestones, including a €700 thousand pre‑seed round in early 2024, which was led by 360 Capital with participation from Growth Engine and Vesper Holding. That initial investment helped the company lay the technological and operational groundwork for the innovations it now seeks to scale nationwide.
As Guidoio accelerates toward its goals, its blend of digital tools, data‑driven insights and user‑centric design positions the startup at the forefront of Italy’s digital transformation in education and mobility services. By offering a more intuitive, autonomous pathway to obtaining a driving licence, it aims not only to serve today’s learners but also to influence how future generations engage with essential public services through technology.
