Installio Raises £1.5M Seed to Expand UK Heat-Pump Installation and Clean-Energy Platform

London‑based clean‑energy technology and heat‑pump installation specialist Installio has successfully raised £1.5 million in seed funding to accelerate its national rollout and support the UK’s transition to low‑carbon home heating. The financing round was led by Verb Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on backing infrastructure and climate‑tech companies with strong market potential.

The freshly raised capital will help Installio expand its operations across the United Kingdom, broaden its technology platform offerings for installers and delivery partners, and further develop the digital tools that streamline complex heat‑pump retrofits. The startup’s founders believe consistent, high‑quality installations are essential to boosting consumer confidence in heat pumps as a cornerstone of the clean‑energy transition — a challenge Installio’s technology‑enhanced model is designed to address.

Installio was founded to tackle one of the most persistent bottlenecks in the UK’s decarbonisation efforts: the lack of scalable, reliable installation capacity for heat pumps and other clean‑energy home systems. Unlike traditional installers who often lack standardized processes or full transparency into project progress, Installio operates a tech‑driven platform that works hand‑in‑hand with trained installation teams. This platform provides real‑time project visibility, compliance oversight and access to a vetted network of installers, helping partners deliver complex retrofit programmes at consistent, high standards.

The company has already built partnerships with major energy providers and retailers including E.ON Next, Aira and Good Energy, as well as contractors, housing associations and large housebuilders. In 2025, Installio expanded into multiple regions in the south of England, shepherding rapid business growth. As part of its seed round narrative, the startup has reported strong revenue expansion — with figures growing approximately 40 % month over month and installation volumes doubling every two months, underlining market demand for its integrated model amid the broader rollout of energy‑efficiency programmes nationwide.

Installio’s co‑founders — Michael May, William Hoyer Millar, Raphael Sibille and Robert J Reid — bring a mix of experience in construction, technology and clean‑energy delivery. May serves as CEO and Millar as CCO, and both have championed the idea that quality installations are not merely a technical necessity but a core component of public trust in heat‑pump technologies. With the new funding, the leadership says the company will double down on its mission to plug the installation capacity gap that conventionally slows the adoption of clean‑energy systems.

Verb Ventures, which led the round, emphasises its belief in Installio’s market positioning at the intersection of operational execution and technology innovation. Verb Ventures partner Alex Chikunov has explained that the clean‑energy transition depends as much on high‑quality delivery infrastructure as on advances in heat‑pump technology itself. Through the funding, Verb Ventures hopes to support Installio in scaling to meet nationwide demand and to evolve its platform into a foundational piece of the UK’s clean‑energy infrastructure.

A prominent addition to Installio’s extended leadership and advisory ranks is Lord Martin Callanan, former UK Parliamentary Under‑Secretary of State (Minister for Energy Efficiency and Green Finance) at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, who serves as a non‑executive director. His involvement reflects the broader political focus on boosting domestic capacity for clean‑energy systems while advancing net‑zero goals. Lord Callanan has underlined the importance of scalable installation services, describing high‑quality heat‑pump deployment as critical national infrastructure necessary to strengthen Britain’s energy independence and lower household emissions.

The UK government, alongside private initiatives, has earmarked significant investment into home‑energy retrofit programmes, including heat‑pump subsidies and regulatory shifts that are expected to make clean‑heating systems standard in new constructions from 2026 onward. However, industry observers note that without sufficient installation capacity and quality assurance, these policy incentives risk falling short of their full impact. Installio’s integrated approach aims to fill that critical gap by offering a scalable framework that supports installers, partners and homeowners alike.

With the seed funding round oversubscribed and a clear growth trajectory ahead, Installio plans to use the injected capital strategically to strengthen its footprint, continue innovating its installer platform, and contribute to the UK’s broader clean‑energy deployment goals. As clean heating becomes central to national energy policy and consumer demand, the company is positioning itself as a key player in ensuring that sustainable systems are installed reliably, efficiently and at scale.
