Intelligent Core Secures £2 Million to Expand Autonomous AI Solutions for Industrial Operations

Intelligent Core, a UK-based industrial artificial intelligence company, has secured substantial new funding as it scales its technology to transform real-world industrial operations across critical sectors. The company’s latest financing—a £2 million investment round—was announced in late 2025 and follows an earlier £500,000 seed raise, reflecting strong investor confidence in Intelligent Core’s autonomous, real-time AI platform.

The £2 million funding round was led by Fuel Ventures, a venture capital firm known for backing early-stage technology innovators. Additional investment came from Plug & Play Tech Center, a global innovation platform and investor that connects startups with industry partners, and Helion Partners, which provides strategic advisory and investment support to fast-growing technology businesses.

This latest round builds on Intelligent Core’s earlier progress. In April 2025, the company completed its inaugural £500,000 seed raise at a £4 million valuation, also led by Fuel Ventures with participation and advisory support from Helion Partners. That initial financing enabled Intelligent Core to develop and refine its predictive AI capabilities and expand its team to meet growing demand for applied AI solutions in heavy industry.

Founded in 2024 and led by CEO Tom Greenlees, Intelligent Core delivers a modular AI platform designed to ingest live data from sensors, field environments, and industrial equipment. The platform provides millisecond-level visibility, forecasting, and autonomous decision-making across complex operations. It is built to operate seamlessly across cloud, on-premises, and edge environments, allowing mission-critical and remote sites to move from reactive monitoring toward predictive and autonomous operations.

Intelligent Core’s technology is aimed at sectors such as oil and gas, water utilities, transport, and manufacturing—industries that often rely on fragmented, legacy systems. The company says its platform can help organisations reduce operational costs by up to 80 per cent by automating maintenance predictions, optimising workflows, and enabling real-time autonomous responses to emerging equipment and system issues.

According to the company, the new capital will be used to accelerate product development, scale engineering and technical teams, and support larger customer deployments across international markets. Intelligent Core also plans to continue developing its proprietary hardware components, which are designed to capture operational data that traditional monitoring systems are unable to access.

Fuel Ventures, which has backed Intelligent Core across multiple funding rounds, has highlighted the startup’s focus on delivering practical, deployable AI rather than purely theoretical models. The firm has pointed to Intelligent Core’s early traction and its emphasis on real-world industrial use cases as key drivers behind its continued support.

Plug & Play Tech Center’s involvement brings not only financial backing but also access to a global network of corporate partners and industrial clients. This network is expected to support Intelligent Core’s commercial expansion by opening doors to pilot projects and large-scale implementations across infrastructure-heavy industries. Helion Partners’ continued participation reflects confidence in the company’s strategy and its relevance within the industrial and deeptech investment landscape.

Industry observers note that Intelligent Core’s fundraising reflects a broader trend toward autonomous industrial AI, where systems are expected to make decisions in real time rather than simply provide analytics or dashboards. This shift is being driven by increasing operational complexity, rising costs, and the need for more resilient and efficient infrastructure.

With the £2 million round completed, Intelligent Core is positioned to deepen its presence in industrial markets, accelerate innovation across its AI and hardware stack, and demonstrate how autonomous intelligence can modernise critical infrastructure operations in an increasingly data-driven global economy.
